About

Hi there! I’m Alicea from Boston! My home life and my family are so important to me, and that’s my inspiration for this blog!

In the first act of my life, I worked in the restaurant industry. From my late teens into my mid-twenties, I worked up the ranks in the restaurant industry starting as a waitress, then moving to prep cook to line cook to chef. I worked long hours and was very dedicated, but ultimately I decided I wanted something different for my life.

In my mid-twenties, I went through a big life change and decided to move with my then boyfriend, now husband, to Tucson, AZ. I wasn’t sure what to do next, so I decided to go to college. I went on to graduate summa cum laude with a B.S. in Biological Anthropology and Human Evolution. I completed some competitive internships, field schools, and completed a thesis. I didn’t continue with a Masters degree because I simply wasn’t willing to go into that kind of debt.

We made a move back to the east coast and landed in Boston, where we still live. I started working in hospital administration and then we decided to start a family.

Becoming a first-time parent in 2020 was quite the experience with the uncertain times, supply chain shortages, and isolation from loved ones. In those first few years, I also went through lots of changes to my work and parenting statuses: from working full-time with a baby, putting my baby in daycare, and then staying home with my toddler while doing freelance work on the side.

I want to explore my parenting experience and the growth and evolution that we all go through as parents. Making our family time intentional and finding balance as a Mom is something I’m very passionate about.

I’ll also share some simple kids' activities, ways to celebrate the seasons as a family, and some ideas around toys. I have a small 850 sqft apartment, so I have learned quite a bit about simplifying and managing toys in a small space.

Thanks for visiting and please feel free to reach out to me by email or on instagram. I would love to connect with you!
